The name already gotcha, didn't it? Serious yum factor. I adapted this recipe from Tere at Pony Tails & Fish Scales. She made hers with colored icing for the 4th of July. It was so cute, I knew I had to make it. But I decided to opt out on the icing and put in some patriotic pow with something else: flag sugar cookies. Even though the 4th of July is over, there's no reason not to show a little patriotism, right?
Here's what I started with:
Start by cutting slices of the chocolate chip cookie dough. Place in the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Don't you like my Purdue cutting board? Shhh!! Don't tell the payroll folks at Ohio State, ok?
Then I pressed the dough into the bottom of the pan.
Mix 3 8 oz. packages of cream cheese, 3 beaten eggs, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla together.
Spread into pan on top of chocolate chip cookie dough.
Layer sugar cookies on top. (I misplaced 2 of the cookies, made little chocolate chip cookie substitutes, took the picture, then found the missing cookies in the package. Oops!)
Bake @ 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until knife comes out clean when inserted.
Cool and enjoy! Yummy! Click on the recipe card below for a printable copy. Coolness factor: you can make these a seasonal dessert by selecting sugar cookie designs to reflect whatever the season is...Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc.
