Sissy goes to camp

My darling Sissy attended "Saddle Up" church camp this week. Which makes me wonder...why is it so much harder on the momma when it's time to leave her baby at camp than it is on the baby being left?
Now granted, this is not her first overnight camping experience; she went to the same camp for a one-night Princess Sleepover last year. But this Saddle Up camp is a three-night experience.
Three nights before she left she started to cry and was really nervous about going. But that was the only attack of nerves. By the time we arrived, she was all smiles and even picked out the top bunk.
Grandma went with us for the big drop off and check in. I think Grandma may have even been more stressed about leaving Sissy on her own at camp than Momma was.
Here we are, all settled in and ready to let our little 7 year old fend for herself. She looks real concerned, huh?
She got her "tree cookie" necklace all updated to reflect her status a second-year camper.
And then she was ready for us to leave. No worries on her part. Sigh. She comes home tonight. Daddy, Baby Boy & Grandma are going to pick her up. I hope she's had a fabulous week, but I'll be glad to have her back home again. :)

  7. You're a better woman than I. I'd probably be frantic the entire time. Sometimes the kids look at me like, "Really mom, chill out!" Hope she had a blast!
