Dear Pantry, Where did I fail you?

I have had a love-hate relationship with my pantry...it came with 2 (yes, count them, TWO) shelves that went around 2 sides of the pantry when we moved in. Then the Old Man put in a new shelving system for me. Problem solved, right?
Um, obviously NOT. Yep, that's a ton of cereal stashed in there...all for less than $1.50 per box thanks to my training as the Frugalista's padawan learner. And yep, those are Easter candy buckets stuffed onto the shelves. And yes, the empty strawberry containers from my jam-making extravaganza (plus cake and freezer strawberries!!)
And more of the same mess over here...obviously clean up is not one of my strengths. Finally enough was enough, so I spent the morning putting things right:
I don't know: maybe you can't tell much difference....but I sure feel a lot better.
Any guesses on how long I can keep it that way?

  1. OMG! DID you sneak into my house and take a picture of MY pantry! Now I am motivated to clean it out, Easter baskets, old candy and all! Thanks!

  2. Straightening the pantry is almost a monthly chore for me -- why can't I put things back where I got them from? And then DH brings things home and I have to find space for them -- where I have no space!

Sigh -- I'd love to have an always neat pantry but I'm afraid that isn't going to happen -- you are one brave woman to bare yours to blogland!

  5. I can certainly see a difference! It looks wonderful and I love the last photo where the one soda can is perched on top of the soda cases {just begging to be drank after all your hard work} !!!

  6. WOW!!! It looks great. I have a love/hate relationship with my pantry too. I so wish mine was bigger, a walk in pantry would have been nice, but considering we moved here from a house with no storage, I was just happy to have a pantry. I really wasn't concerned with the size. Now 5 years later, I have realized the error of my ways. Oh well, I guess, such is life. :-)

  8. Great job cleaning up! If I had cereal like that stacked in my pantry it would go a box a day, no joke! And I only have 2 boys (plus the hubby, so more like 3). If we have it.. they EAT it! Thanks for sharing. -Your newest follower, Kansas Amy
