They go right into the water (with a big splash I might add).
The DUKW (affectionately called "ducks") were also used in the Korean War. And now they are used to tour the Wisconsin Dells. And they are driven by none other than crazy Houins on occasion.
Here Sissy & Bubby receive their duck-driving instructions.
Sissy took her turn driving first...
Then it was Bubby's turn....
Obviously, Baby Boy didn't listen to the part of the instructions that said to keep his eyes on the water. I bet those other duck riders were scared. If not, they should have been.
Now I admit, I didn't see any real moose. Except this one:
But the duck tours did give us a chance to see some wildlife...like these deer that were in the woods as we drove by in the duck...
Apparently deer aren't too afraid of ducks.
Maybe because they're all wildlife?
Even if they were a little difficult to spot sometimes.
But ducks, deer, moose or none of the above, give me the trees and the water. It was gorgeous.

Very cool! It looks as if Bubby took his driving very seriously!
ReplyDeleteWhen those ducks go splashing into the water, it's so much fun! I love his big grin!
ReplyDeleteI am getting more and more interested in the Dells! Don't worry about not seeing a moose; they are really quite ugly in real life!
