Rodeo Road: The end is in sight!

Somewhere along the way I got behind. Whether it was traveling, being sick or just life in general, it's been a while since I updated you on the kids' rodeo season. I shared with you Baby Boy's first rodeo competition last month, but I forgot to tell you how Sissy & Bubby did!

1st event up was dummy roping...no catch for Sissy, but it was a close miss...

Then it was on to the goat tail tying, where I had not one, not two, but three little competitors!
Sissy only get to exhibition in this event for reasons I don't understand or want to talk about. But she was great none-the-less.
 Bubby placed 8th....
...and even Baby Boy placed 10th...after more discussion I don't want to talk about. Go check our Farmgirl Follies to see how I was feeling. Seriously. Despite the best efforts of several "adults" in attendance, the kids were still having a ball.
Then it was on to the riding events, where Sissy started us off with a second place in the barrel racing.
And Bubby & Beavis brought home third place.
Sissy won the pole bending, which secured her year-end championship even though we still had the finals to go....
And Bubby took home second place in the pole bending, giving him enough of a point lead that he would win the year-end championship as long as he completed two on-pattern runs in the finals.
Then Sissy won second in the down and back...
...and Bubby won 6th place in his class.
And Sissy rounded out the day with a 4th place finish in the advanced goat tail tying.

Despite all the "adult drama," this is why I do it:
Their smiles and their confidence make it all worth while. At least that's what I tell myself when I try counting to 10.

  1. You know, it apparently doesn't matter what the competition is; kids will enjoy themselves despite the stomping and bellowing going on OUTSIDE the bull pen! Glad you can still see the sunshine through the dark clouds! Go check out my blog! I'm talking about you again ;-)
