Bargain of the week: My Gymboree score!

Who doesn't agree that Gymboree has adorable clothes? My let's face it: there is no way this workin' momma is paying anywhere near full price for those clothes, no matter how cute they are. Are ya with me there, girls? So, my shopping there is limited: usually scouring the clearance racks or some Black Friday deal shopping.

Well, this fall I scored some good deals on some holiday duds for the kids on at their pre-Black Friday sale and again on Cyber Monday I think...first purchases I'd made there in a year. But those trips netted me $100 in GymBucks. If you're not familiar with their program, you earn $25 Gymbucks for each $50 you spend during the earning period. Then, during the approximately week-long redemption period, you can use $25 of Gymbucks for each $50 of merchandise you buy...regular, clearance, sale-priced...it doesn't matter.

So here was my big score this week:

First, my splurge. And let me say, I'm a complete sucker for coordinating outfits for the kids. So the boys got these from the Halfpipe Hero line:
Regular: $19.95; on sale for $16.49

Regular $24.75; on sale for $17.99
No big bargains so far, but let's keep in mind the Gymbucks savings which will put that to nearly half of the sale price. But basically, I'm a sucker for the blue & brown colors. As you can see with Sissy's coordinating duds from the Girls Best Friend line:
Regular $29.75; on sale $16.99

Regular $22.75; on sale $12.99
Regular $14.75; on sale $11.49
So much for the splurges, now onto the better deals:

Khaki jeans for Bubby
Regular $29.75; on sale $14.99

Skinny jeans for Bubby
Regular $29.75; on sale $14.99

Then onto some pants for Baby Boy...and one for Bubby, too in a different color:
Microfleece pants
Regular $19.75; on sale $7.99
Then on to shopping for Sissy. Girl shopping is my weakness. I started with the leggings, because Sissy is super sensative (and whiny) about the way clothes feel...so right now she is on strike from tights and refusing to wear them. Let's not go there on how frustrated that makes me...

5 more pairs, styles and colors (plus the blue pair above)
with sale prices ranging from $5.99 - $7.99
Embroidered shirt dress
Regular $34.75; on sale for $12.99
Throw in a microfleece hoodie, a long-sleeved Christmas/winter t-shirt and some pony holders, and I ended up with a grand total of $225.30 - $100 Gymbucks = $125.30 for 20 items. That's an average of $6.27 each...and that's not too shabby for Gymboree shopping in my book. And the original retail price? $418.65 for an average savings of 70%.

Now let me say this word of caution: keep all your Gymboree receipts and packing slips together with your Gymbucks coupon. 'Cause even though they give you a coupon, the coupon alone is not enough for the redemption...you have to have the code and pin off the packing slip or receipt to use your GymBucks. Tricky, huh? But if you happen to lose yours...not that  would of course...if you placed the order online you can call customer service, give them your order number, and they will e-mail you the numbers you need within just a few minutes.

As I said, not that I do a lot of shopping there, but I also have a Gymboree Rewards card, which is a free customer loyalty card. Basically you get a $5 reward certificate for every $250 you spend. Not a ton, but better than a kick in the pants, right?

Anyway, I enjoyed my shopping and can't wait for the new duds to arrive. :)

  1. WAY TOO CUTE!!! I loved Gymboree when my girls were little - but like you couldn't afford it straight up - bought most of my stuff at used stores - Once Upon A Child - 90% of my kids clothes came from used stores!

  3. The grandparents like to shop there! I'm like you, though, and can only be found at the clearance rack. I like The Children's Place.

  4. You did good and thanks for reminding me to redeem my gymbucks. I only had $50, but I feel like I did pretty good including Little Sissy's Christmas dress for next year.
