Back to school shopping bargains

I can't believe how fast the new school year is approaching! And what a year for us: Baby Boy starts preschool and Bubby starts kindergarten....and this will be Sissy's final year at her elementary school. Sigh.

I'll admit it: I might be a little bit addicted to shopping for clothes for the kids. There are tons of seriously cute things out there!! Normally I buy ahead and am well-stocked (lol...you should SEE all the stuff I have stashed and crammed everywhere!!). But I decided I needed to pick up a few basics for Sissy and Bubby for back-to-school time. Baby Boy's dresser is pretty much too stuffed to hold anything else...one of the dangers of being the youngest I guess.

So off Sissy & I trekked to our go-to store for clothes shopping: Children's Place. A couple of things I like about CP:
  • You can almost always find a printable coupon for at least 15% off.
  • Place Perks = $10 back for every $75 you spend. It's free & no credit card required for the savings.
  • There's a CP outlet about 10-12 miles from where I work. Can you say, "score"?
Here's "most" of Sissy's CP haul:
Studded demin skirt/skort: $10 - $15% off = $8.50
Boyfriend tank with horse: $5 - 15% off = $4.25
Denim pedal pushers: $4.99 - 15% off = $4.24
Denim capris: $9.49 - 15% off = $8.07
Denim shorts: $4.99 -  15% off = $4.24
Butterfly t (only clothes we bought that was not already on sale, but she "had" to have it): $12.50 - 15% off = $10.88
Skinny jeans: $10 - 15% off = $8.50
Bootcut jeans: $10 - 15% off = $8.50
Jean jacket (see below)

Bubby needed a lot less in the clothes department, so he just got the basics:
2 jeans: $10 ea - 15% off = $8.50 each
2 graphic ts: $5 ea - 15% off = $4.25 each

And some jackets:
 2 denim jackets: $1.99 each - 15% off = $1.69 each
Windbreaker for Sissy: $9.49 - 15% off = $8.07

The denim jackets were definitely the best deal of the day!! I also went ahead and got Baby Boy a new polo shirt for the 1st day of preschool for $4.99 - 15% = $4.22.

Of course, on the way back to the car, we had to walk past Osh Kosh, where I saw they had adorable tunics and leggings buy one, get one free. Still, they really weren't that great of a deal...but I got them anyway. it made the tunics $12 each the leggings $7 each. Then I felt bad for Bubby & got him 2 more t-shirts for $6 each. I couldn't figure out how to take decent pics of the tunics & leggings, but one of the sets Sissy got is shown here.

Have you done your back-to-school shopping yet? I need to go shoe shopping yet and finish off the school supply lists.

  2. CP is having big online sales this weekend, too! I just bought the same denim skirt for my girls and a similar butterfly T-shirt. Yesterday was 25% off $75 purchase, today I think it's 20% off a $50 purchase. Awesome!

  5. Great deals! I really like Children's Place too. Our outlet isn't very nice though. :(

I really love that denim skirt you got! My daughter is still too little for that, but it's really adorable!
