If you've been here before, you probably know my family rodeos. From Grandma right on down to the 5 and 7 year olds and the 3 year old who dreams at night of riding bulls. This weekend we honored
my Daddy at the
Butch Taft Memorial Youth Rodeo. Daddy raised bucking stock, including bulls. And I swear even the young bulls that we took that that youth rodeo knew this past weekend was a special rodeo. And they bucked like it, too.
'Cause there's one less tornado in Texas,
and a saddle that's empty tonight.
There's one hell of a cowboy in Heaven
at that big rodeo in the sky.
I do not know how you all get on those things and ride, but it must be a huge rush of fun! SO glad you brought back so many great memories of this past weekend! It has to make you smile a special smile!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to honor your father. He'd be pleased. Your photos of the event are spectacular. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteThey REALLY kick up those heels!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! This was so interesting for someone like me living in Brooklyn. I'd love going to a rodeo and seeing all the animals and cheering for the riders. All your pictures were just great! Your dad must have been a true cowboy to have raised bulls. Looks dangerous to me, but the young man in the pictures looks like he knows what he's doing yahoooooooo!
ReplyDeleteHaupi
Woohoo!
ReplyDelete73rd Annual Dayton Rodeo this weekend!!! I'm not going, but all my students will be at the rodeo grounds all weekend!
