Blissdom Report: Lovin' the Lorax

I have been  SO looking forward to taking my kids to see the new Lorax movie!

I got in the mood at Blissdom, where the Lorax himself was on the prowl throughout Opryland...

Me, the Lorax and one of my real-life besties, the Bathtub Mama...
in the dreary black and white version of a world without Lorax trees...
The lovely folks at Blissdom were also sweet enough to treat all of the attendees with a copy of The Lorax book...which I in turn gave to Bubby and he promptly fell in love with...

Then we went to a Lorax party (courtesy of Universal Studios) where we also celebrated Dr. Suess's birthday...

The Lorax himself was even on hand for the big celebration....and he may have even brought along some Lorax Martinis...

And have you tried out the official Lorax app on iTunes? Obviously we have...which is why Gal in the Middle and I are sporting a Lorax 'staches of our own..

We also got fuzzy wearable 'staches...

Paper 'staches...

And even these cool Lorax bookmark/tree seeds from IHOP...

All perfect to get our family in the mood for some Lorax love. But to me, some of the coolest things about the Lorax movie (besides Taylor Swift of course) are some of the great learning materials put together by Project Learning Tree that tie in perfectly with the return of the Lorax. These lessons are pefect for classrooms, but they can be adapted to your own family, too. Whether you have preschooler, and elementary student of even a middle schooler, there are activities in this set that are prefect for you. My personal favorite is, "Who Speaks for the Trees?" We'll be following up our movie trip with a modified version of this lesson at home, and I'll be using it more this spring with some of the school groups I work with, too.

So if you haven't yet, go on and enjoy the Lorax...and give a little Lorax love while you're at it.
